Physical Rehab & Work Hardening
Aquatic Therapy Program - Is comprised of a 1-hour program in our indoor pool, maintained at a constant 93-degree temperature. Aqua therapy is an effortless way for people to workout, with less pain, in a smoother, less jarring environment. The program is ideal for post-surgical rehabilitation, acute, or chronic injuries as well as obese patients. BWR's heated pool increases mobility, strength, and conditioning, while decreasing muscle tightness and reducing joint swelling.
Aquatic & Land Base Exercise Program - Is comprised of a 2-hour program, which includes one hour of aquatic therapy and one hour of land base exercises. The program begins with an initial evaluation to determine the patient's deficits. A customized program is designed to increase the patient's strength, range of motion, flexibility and coordination.
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) - A thorough, standardized and consistent test, which provides the objective data necessary to identify an individual's functional abilities as it relates to his/her crucial job tasks. Patients should be told that this is a 3-4 hour test. They should wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. Also, the patient should be reminded to take their medication prescribed by their doctor prior to the test.
Work Conditioning Program - An intensive, work-related, goal-oriented physical restoration program focusing on the client's overall physical condition. Designed to restore strength, cardio-vascular endurance, flexibility and motor control. A Work Conditioning Program is 3-days per week/ 3-hours per day. The program is a great precursor to the Work Hardening Program.
Work Hardening Program - Custom designed job-related tasks replicating the patient's functional work environment. Work Hardening is a job specific program of activity with the goal of return to work. Work hardening programs use real or simulated work tasks and progressively graded conditioning exercises that are based on the individual's measured tolerances. The program is designed to improve the biomechanical, neuromuscular, and cardiovascular functions of the worker. The program meets 5-days per week/4 to 8-hours per day.
